Whats the minimum notice a private UK landlord can give a tenant to leave?

If you share with your landlord then you are not a tenant. You are a lodger. All the landlord is required to give is “reasonable” notice. What is reasonable depends on all the circumstances. If you pay monthly and have been there a while then a month would be a good starting point. But if the relationship has broken down then less might be reasonable. Possibly as little as nothing if you have suddenly become violent or impossible to live with.
