Whats the smallest digital SLR camera you can buy?

The micro 4/3rd system is very compact has great potential and the Panasonic has had very good reviews, however on a point of pedantry it is not a single lens reflex camera, there is no mirror and no optical viewfinder so it is not a DSLR. Is this important? It is if you prefer using a conventional viewfinder, as most SLR users do, the screen is handy but subject to the usual issues of how you hold the camera (at arms length rather than supported close to the body) and the focusing speed cannot match an SLR with an optical system, so if sports are your thing you may feel robbed. It’s also pricey just now, and whilst the body is very compact, the overall bulk of the camera will be determined by the interchangeable lens you fit. So in terms of cost & performance with only a very slight sacrifice in bulk, I would recommend you look at the Olympus DSLR range, the same size of sensor (larger than compacts, smaller than most DSLRS) keeps the camera bulk down. That said, canons EOS 1000D & 45
