Whats up with private messaging?
The private message function is an important part of forum life. When one user needs to communicate with just one or two other users, it’s much better (in fact it’s correct) to use the PM function. The PM utility on this forum is different from the one on the old Colts.com Fan Forum. Here are a few things you need to know: 1. You can only store 50 messages. This isn’t a big deal, though, because if you go to the scroll bar at the bottom of any message box, you can select three download methods (TXT is the easiest to archive). It might be wise to get into a “download and delete” routine if PMs are a frequent part of the forum experience. There’s also a link at the very bottom that will download everything at once (instead of doing individual folders). 2. You can send messages to up to 5 users at once (as opposed to just one) by adding a ; after each user name and adding to the string in the “to” area. 3. The read/unread engine is very, very touchy.
