When can the County Auditor make corrections to my property record card and tax bill?

0

Ohio law outlines the conditions under which the County Auditor can make changes to a property record. Typically he/she can only make a change if an error of facta clerical error. (Note: see the question titled “What is a clerical error?”). If the error is not an error of fact, Ohio law requires the property owner file a “Complaint Against the Valuation of Real Property” (DTE Form 1) with the County Board of Revision. The complaint is due in the Auditors Office no later than close of business on March 31. The property owner can then present his/her reasons for requesting a value change to the Board.
