The company was founded by Christian von Koenigsegg and its headquarters are in southern Sweden. The company’s first production prototype, the CC, was shown at the Paris motor show in September 2000. The first production model, the CC 8S, was revealed at the Geneva motor show two years later. The 800bhp CCR was revealed at the same motor show in 2004, and was named as the world’s fastest road car the following year.
