When did News/Talk 750 WSB begin broadcasting?
News/Talk 750 WSB is the South’s first radio station. We’ve been on the air since March 15, 1922 when a telegram from the Secretary of Commerce granted the station temporary permission weather bulletins. The station received its license to broadcast other programming later in 1922. Pittsburgh’s KDKA is recognized as the nation’s first radio station as it was the first radio station ever assigned call letters in 1920.
