When did Pons Quintana’s trademark plaiting first begin?
Twenty-five years ago. We made several designs that sold really well and then were approached by a major French client who kept coming back for more. Our plaited designs involve several days’ work and different motifs are drawn on to the leather for a unique result. Today, we are on the leading edge of that technique. Our plaiting gets a finish, gloss, leather and ageing that is all our own. It’s totally hand made and very elaborate, quite unlike your typical shoe-manufacturing process. “As well as our plaiting, boots are another part of our unique identity, with an equal measure of design and comfort.” What else do Pons Quintana collections have to offer?
