When did the majority of celebrities become such bad role models?

When someone discovered that the associated publicity was free. I had never even heard of Hugh Grant before he hit the front page for playing with a prostitute. What good thing would he have had to have done to get on the front page of a newspaper? But one night with a ‘pro’ gave him all that publicity for free. When you’re a celebrity, “Any publicity is good publicity.” It keeps you in everyone’s mind and so encourages them to see your latest movie / music video etc. While you’re thinking about them, you’re not thinking about the other good celebrities so you forget they exist, you forget to watch their movies / music videos etc. If you want good role models in your celebrities then you’re going to have to shun the bad ones. You’re also going to have to shun all media that tells you about the bad ones, because as long as evil sells, evil lives.
