When does the Federal Direct Loan Program begin for Community College of Philadelphia?
Beginning with the fall 2010 semester, the College will no longer participate in the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) where students and parents borrow federal loans through a private lender such as a bank or credit union. Instead, all subsidized, unsubsidized and parent Plus loans will be available from the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program where the federal government is the lender. All loan terms beginning with fall 2010 semester will be processed exclusively through Direct Lending.
