The Federal Council decided to begin the consultation process for the legislative amendment project “Swissness” on November 28, 2007. The consultation was completed March 31, 2008. On October 15, 2008, the Federal Council accepted the results of the consultation and commissioned the FDJP to write a dispatch, taking the results of the consultation into account, regarding the amendment of the trademark law and the law on the protection of coats of arms.
