First clean the disk with a soft cloth and a little water(even if it looks clean) IF that does not work….. Take out all the screws from the bottom of the caseing and GENTLY lift it off from the BACK FIRST. there is a terminal that runs from the motherboard to the power and reset buttons in the front(it runs off to the same side as the buttons) if you’re not careful you will pull it out, not a problem but its a pain in the ass to get it back in. Once that is done…. Remove the plastic cover from the top of the disk drive(it has a laser radiation warning on it) put your shirt over your mouth and blow through it(this will stop spit from getting on the lens) onto the lens to remove any hard debris that may scratch it. Then take a Q-Tip with a small amount of Rubbing Alcohol on it and run it gently rub it over the lens. let it sit and dry then put a disk in it and test it, if it works put the disk drive cover back on, make sure everything is attached, and but the caseing back on.
