When I startup the application for the fist time, vPost™ asks to access my call logs, why does it need to do that?

When an incoming phone call comes, vPost™ is designed to disable any ongoing voice recording immediately so the user can receive the phone. To do so vPost™ need to listen for incoming calls and hence needs to access call logs.
