When making a X-mas Gingerbread house, what do you use to hold it together?

Most gingerbread houses I make are for decoration, not eating. I use a home-made royal icing (a little vanilla or almond extract gets rid of the egg white smell). Most of the time, I glue together cardboard, then thatch is with shredded wheat, or make bricks out of graham crackers, Gingerbread is too hard to get the shapes exact (uneven leavening, etc). I use melted sugar for the windows. Oh, and I use a small string of lights inside to accent the windows.
