When to go to hospital if leaking amniotic fluid?

My suggestion is to contact the hospital and let them know about the leaking fluid. Then go whenever the fiance gets home. You don’t have to get there urgently and for now, infection isn’t a problem.

You need to get to the hospital within 24 hours of your water breaking. If your contractions aren’t bad you can wait at home. Perhaps call a friend over just in case your contractions suddenly get regular and you need help with the 2 year old.

You did not mention how many weeks you are so hopefully you are not earlier than 36 wks. Try to go as soon as possible usually with in the first 6 hours so you can get on antibiotics to protect the baby and you from getting an infection. Any type of leakage can create an area of infection also if the majority of the amniotic fluid is gone your baby has no real cushioning. Good luck.

Call your Dr. or the hospital and do exactly what they say.
