When was the last time the Bears drafted two offensive linemen in the first three rounds?
Simon G. Bloomington, Illinois The last time the Bears selected two offensive linemen in the first three rounds was in Jerry Angelo’s first draft with the organization in 2002. Marc Colombo was chosen in the first round and Terrence Metcalf was picked in the third round. Incidentally, Angelo did not select an offensive lineman in the first three rounds in his next five drafts through last year. Prior to 2002, the Bears had not chosen two offensive linemen in the first three rounds since 1989 when they picked Dave Zawatson in the second round and Jerry Fontenot in the third round. I love to see how so-called experts grade every NFL team’s draft. Didn’t the Bears get panned in 2006 after they selected Devin Hester, Danieal Manning and Mark Anderson? I bet those draftniks would want to revise those grades after seeing the type of impact Hester has had on the NFL! Peter W. Kirkville, New York I also seem to remember the Bears receiving poor grades for that draft. USA Today’s Jarrett Bell g
