When will the regulatory process for the new employers first report begin and when will the new regulations be effective?

DWC is currently drafting the new employer’s first report and plans to begin the regulatory process, which includes the opportunity for public comment, in Fall 2010. Changes to the Labor Code made by AB 2181 will become effective on the same day that that the DWC regulations implementing the bill become effective. A transition period of up to 18 months for employers to comply with the law is required to be part of the regulations.
