Where can I find a list of items that students should bring or not bring to NYU?
Residents are expected to supply their own pillows, blankets, towels, and linens/sheets (80″ long). Items such as incandescent or fluorescent study lights, surge protectors, curtains, rugs, posters, microwave ovens, alarm clocks, and other personal accessories are permitted and may be helpful. Prohibited items include halogen lights, candles, toaster ovens, hot plates, wall phones, and pets. Students may wish to coordinate with their roommate(s) in advance to avoid having multiple appliances such as TVs, micro-waves, or small refrigerators. The Department of Housing and Residence Life provides a complete list of items that students should bring as well as items that are prohibited in NYU residence halls. This list is accessible on-line at http://www.nyu.edu/housing/policies/moving-whattobring.
