If you have decided that the mau is the breed for you, then a good place to start is the Egyptiam Mau Club website. The site has contact details of club committe members, and maintains a list of breeders who are club members as well as a kitten list. Never buy a mau from a pet shop as there is no guarantee that any thought or care has been given concerning correct type, adequate socialisation or health. The supply of kittens to Pet Shops is not condoned by the Egyptian Mau Club, by buying a kitten from a pet shop you would be supporting unethical practices, beacause no reputable breeder would sell their kittens in this way.
