Where can I go if I am proficient, not fluent in a Kiva language?
If you speak only conversational or low proficiency Spanish, French, Arabic or Portuguese, we cannot place you in a location requiring these languages. Adjustments may be made for other languages for which Kiva does not receive many applications. The Kiva Fellows Program is not a good opportunity for language immersion learning. While the program will offer opportunities to expand on already-strong language skills, lower levels of proficiency are not appropriate for the types of work accomplished by Kiva Fellows.
