Where Did Medieval Troubadours Live?
While troubadours may have been from the upper class or nobility only the oldest son inherited, so the younger sons were usually on their own. Troubadours were strolling minstrels and usually traveled around the country, stopping at noblemen’s houses and staying for a while to entertain. They also were sometimes the only way to get news of the outside world, so they were considered very important and usually treated with great courtesy.
