Where do I get a Pet Turtle in Virginia?
There may be some ordinances against owning a pet turtle. They have been linked to salmonella on their bellies, so some places stopped selling them. In Pennsylvania you can buy a turtle at a pet store, but not one that is indigenous to the area. So I a pet store cannot sell an Eastern box turtle for instance, but there are dozens of other turtles that you can buy.
