Contact GSD rescues and see if there is some way that they can screen you and possibly allow you to adopt one of their rescues. It likely won’t be a ‘puppy’ as puppies are what everyone wants but usually not at all what everyone needs. Adopting is what one does from a shelter or rescue. Buying is what one does from a breeder and you need to learn about being able to select a breeder responsibly so you are not supporting a back yard greeder or puppy miller – commercially motivated puppy makers. Locate some decent, knowledgeable breeders in your area and learn as much as you can about the breed and all the needed health, temperament and structural evaluations and needs.
