Where do Presbyterians live?
Presbyterians are scattered in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. On a relative basis, the largest concentration is in Pennsylvania (276,300 members or 10.6 percent of the denomination’s membership) followed by California (183,574 or 7.0 percent) and North Carolina (165,520 or 6.3 percent). The least densely Presbyterian-populated states are Maine (667 or 0.03 percent) and Vermont (743 or 0.03 percent).
