Where is the Best Upscale Casual Dining in San Antonio, Texas?
We have visited Crumpets on many occasions and always found the quality of the dishes to be above our expectations. Remember to ask for the fresh seafood of the day or any specials as we’ve found that they’ve recently come up with some new dishes which are worth trying! The staff is attentive and professional and takes special measures to celebrate special occasions as well as to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Crumpets has a sauce that is non-fat and sugar free which goes well with chicken and beef dishes – my wife is diabetic. Although, Crumpets is well know for it’s incredible desserts, they have recently added a sugar free creme brulee’ with raspberries and an AMAZING sugar free Carrot Cake. My wife had the Carrot Cake and insisted it was the best she’d ever had.If you’ve never been there, my suggestions are to make your way over to Harry Wurzbach Road, enjoy the atmosphere and try the Beef Wellington – few can get it right – but, Crumpets has perfected this dish
My wife & I celebrated our 7yr anniv by having dinner there this Aug 07…You must call & make reservations which is not a bad thing (last reservations are @ 8:30)…I choose this place because of other reviews and city search had it at #1 most romantic and steak place to go…It is a little out of the way but that is what makes this place special…once you get there it is nestled in the hill country with beautiful scenes…The wait staff was very polite and quick on their toes…Some things that did not make the night like I wanted it was the fact that we were trying to have a romantic dinner and we were seated next to a huge party of woment that were loud and abnoxious (that really broke the romantic evenning i was going for)…The wait staff was polite in saying that they understood, however, there were numerous gatherings going on throughout the establishments and there really was not a place that was quite….I would recommend putting big parties in one place or leave a section w
They have the best chicken fried steak I have ever had. The service was good, very prompt and the chips at the begining of the meal were a little different, but pretty good, the seasoning used was tasty and the textures was a nice change.. I would highly recommend this place.Pros + good food, very yummyCons – the ceiling dripped a little water on us
I am a frequent diner of J. Alexanders, and their Croissants are just to die for! Just ask for a basket(3pcs) if you didn’t see it on menu. I do agree of previous review of it might not be the best place to bring infants or young child to, however i did sat w/some well behave toddlers during a sunny afternoon in their patio. guess it just denpends on how good your child behave. Given it’s atomsphere and hearty portion of food, the price is pretty reasonable. Although i did got an uncooked salmon once, the manager certainly took good care of it…unlike other famous chain store…read my other reiviews if you r interest. Over all I do encourage you to pay them a visit when you have a chance to hang around The Quarry. Pros + To Die for Croissants!
