Where is the nearest supermarket?
The nearest supermarket is the CO-OP in Seahouses just 3 miles from Bamburgh. There are also Morrisons and a Sainsburys in Alnwick, just a 20 minute drive away. Asda will do home deliveries to the cottages in the area. You can place an order online at www.asda.com and pre order up to 3 weeks in advance. In Bamburgh there is a greengrocers, the famous Carters butchers and a couple of hamper shops that sell fresh local produce and sandwiches etc.
There are two or three large supermarkets in the main town centre. You can catch the dolmus, which runs approx every five mins at the end of the main road by the villa (5min walk), or you can ring for a taxi. We would not recommend that you walk, as it is some distance from the villa. Details of how to best get to the supermarkets are in the information manual in the villa.
