Where to buy raw meaty bones for my dog?
instead of thinking of a ‘meaty bone’ think of meat with bones. What is actually meant by the term is something like a chicken quarter or a whole lamb neck. Bones really only need to be about 10-15% of the total diet so a chicken quarter two or three times a week may be enough for your dog. Some people feed things like chicken frames but these are really too bony to be a meal on their own. If I use them I make sure they are stuffed with lamb heart or chunks of meat and organs. Some people use the ‘prey model’ ratio of 80% meat (including heart), 10% edible bone, 5% liver and 5% other organs. I tend to work on a meaty meal followed by a bone-in meal with things like kidney, liver etc about once a week each.
