Wheres the code editor / window?
Game Maker doesn’t have one, at least not in the traditional sense. In fact, Game Maker’s GUI nature makes it impossible to simply open up a code editor and get to work. To load resources such as sprites, you have to do it using the IDE, not code. You can use code, but it has to be in certain places. It’s much like using Visual Basic where every control has it’s own code. GML code is usually placed either in an Execute Code action or in a script. Both of these use Game Maker’s rudimentary code editor.
