From the front, Allos homes are very traditional Georgian manors. But sneak around the back and you’ll see a contemporary wall of glass and steel. It may not please the purists, but it’s not aimed at them, and the footballers love it. Inside the blend continues, with classical features, including vaulted ceilings and double-height hallways, side by side with the latest styling and lots of boys’ toys technology. Part of the appeal of an Allos home is that the buyer has an influence on the finished product. Mayad Allos works with the owner throughout the design and build, even sourcing and supplying the furnishings together. The results would not look out of place in any interior design magazine. And not a gold-plated fountain or leopard skin cushion in sight. In fact Mayad Allos’s own home, which is used as a show house for the company, recently won a commendation for best interior design for a new house in the National Homebuilder Design Awards.
