Which carb is better Holley or Weber?

Both carburetors work well and differ only in one or two areas. The Weber is easier to jet and set and has arguably better fuel metering. In terms of out and out performance however there is little to choose between the two and price wise they are almost the same. Very few road performance engines will flow enough air to warrant any additional fueling requirement. We do find however that the Holley 390 & 465 cfm work better with the lower profile Offenhauser Dual plane Inlet manifold whereas the Weber 500 cfm works best with the Dual Plane Edelbrock Performer Manifold. For some applications it is recommended that a carb to manifold 5 degree spacer plate is used. This is because of float levels and the horizontal plane of the engine when fitted to V8 converted cars. One additional manifold for the 4 barrel carburetor is the Abbey Spyder Manifold. It features a horizontally cast thermostat housing as well as marginally improved fuel distribution.
