Which conditions encourage post harvest losses/insect damage?
Infested grains at harvest, loading new grain to already infested grain in stores, inadequate drying, poor storage structures, unhygienic storage conditions and climatic conditions (temperature and relative humidity) encourage post harvest losses/insect damage. Post harvest losses may also persist because of the use of counterfeit or inadequate amounts of chemicals and late application of insecticides.
