We recommend you to choose XviD. Please check the definition given by doom9.com: “XviD is a word play, read it the reverse way and you might find a familiar term. XviD is an open source MPEG-4 codec which depending on whom you’re asking yields even better quality than the best DivX codec.” So XviD is based on DivX, but not like DivX, it is free of charge. (The early version of DivX is also free, but the performance can not be as good as the latest XviD which is always free.) The conversion speed of Ms MPEG-4 V1/V2/V3 is slightly slower than XviD.
