Which Firewall Ports To Open/Reg Edits To Make For Ex5.5?

0

Hello, We have to open ports in our firewall to allow 5 users connect to an Ex5.5 server using Outlook 2000 to consult public folders only. The server is the only 5.5 server in our W2K3 domain and is in its own Exchange Organisation. The users in question are on an extranet. Is the following the correct procedure: – on the Exchange server, create a REG_DWORD key called “TCP/IP Port” in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeDS\Parameters. and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem and assign the new keys, for example, the values of 5000 and 5001 respectively; – restart Exchange; – open ports 135, 5000 and 5001 on the firewall. We intend to create a single domain user account with minimum rights to access the public folders; right now the extranet users use a local logon on their PCs. Unfortunately, IIS isn’t installed on the server and the users insist on using Outlook 2000 anyway. Any other suggestions would be welcom
