Which idioms should I learn the american idioms or british idioms?
To be honest, even though it pains me as a British person to say this, for practical reasons you’re probably better off going with the American idioms. Here’s why: 1. You’re closer to the USA in Mexico so it’s more likely you’ll meet and talk to more North Americans than Brits. 2. Most British people understand most American idioms, but most Americans tend not to have a clue about British ones. 3. North American culture is more dominant globally due to Hollywood movies, popular music, etc. therefore you are more likely to come across people who are familiar with the American idioms than British ones, throughout the globe.
