Which students are taking the SAILS exam at Weber State?
• We are asking all the student’s enrolled in our for-credit classes to take this exam. We teach over 700 students each semester. Over 350 WSU students participated in SAILS Phase I. • Many of our students are in online sections of the Internet Navigator (LibSci 1704). They are taking the SAILS test in an unmonitored setting, on their own, without any type of proctor. These students will be given extra credit points. This is a voluntary/optional assignment for them. • We are asking the students in our traditional classes to take the SAILS test as an ungraded in-class exercise 3. How are you authenticating? • When students initially enter their ID numbers they are authenticating against our EZproxy system. Students will enter their WSU student ID numbers after agreeing to the consent form. The ID’s are used to make sure the student is a WSU student. Once a student has been authenticated, a new and unique identifier will be created for each student that signs the consent form. These numb
