Who does this disease affect?
Mostly Moms of the children described above are affected; there have been a few Dads diagnosed with this disease, but that is very RARE. What can be done? After years and years of trying to find a cure, scientists have come up with only two treatments: time and prayer. After the child reaches six years old, the urge to drive Mom batty declines; the child is more independent and no longer needs Mom to help. Prayer has been proven to help Mom find solace through this trying time. A couple of words of warning: Be careful when you pray for patience because our Creator has a sense of humor. It seems as if every time I pray for patience, the next day the kids would go a step further into the abyss of annoyance. For example, one night following a very trying day, I prayed for patience. The next day as I was trying to meet a deadline for work, my one-year-old found a way to get up on the table and pour out all of the sugar. And to top this off, the four-year-old “helped” me clean the mess up.
