Who gets the proceeds from the sale to slaughter?
Producers keep the proceeds from slaughter sales. To be competitive, bidders must consider this income when preparing their bid application. However, CWT does not compensate the producer for the difference between his bid price and the slaughter price the producer receives for the cows. All CWT will pay the producer is the bid per hundredweight of milk the producer put on the bid form times the plant-verified milk production submitted with the bid form.
