Who handles the billing for North Stonington Ambulance?
We contract this service to an outside “billing agent”, Holdsworth Pelton and Associates. They are based out of East Berlin, CT and handle most billing related issues. Q: How do I pay my bill? A: You can pay your ambulance bill in a number of ways: – Personal check or money order to: North Stonington Ambulance PO Box 503 East Berlin, CT 06023-0503 – Visa, Mastercard or Debit Online: www.ambulancebill.com Phone: 800.258.3902 Q: How can I get a copy of my bill? A: You may request a copy of your bill by calling our billing office at 800.258.3902. Q: I am a North Stonington resident, why am I receiving a bill? I pay taxes! A: This question has two answers. First, Connecticut law does not allow an ambulance service to “selectively” bill patients – we must either bill everyone or no one. Second, the money we receive from patient billing offsets the amount of tax money we require in order to operate. If you didn’t receive a bill, your taxes would be higher to compensate for this lost revenue.
