Who has had the most influence on World culture, Britain or America?
The British empire has had a huge amount of influence on world culture, the English language being the main contribution. If it is not the first language of a country it is usually the second and in the few cases where it’s not it soon will be. English will soon be the world language. People seem to be mistaking economy for culture. I think the worlds most spoken language is actually Mandarin but it is mostly confined to China, English is spoken in a lot more countries though. I also think that because Britain colonised so many countries including America, it has had a lasting effect where as America’s influences are more of a passing fad.
