Who invented Ugg Boots?
Contrary to popular belief, UGGs were NOT invented for surfers nor were they invented by the UGG Austrlia corporation (a subsidiary of Decker’s Outdoor Corporation). Deckers actually purchased the trademark and then went on to patent the UGG name (and related terms) in trademark offices throughout the world. The only place where they were completely unsuccessful was in Australia where local manufacturers were able to prove to the courts that the word “UGG” refers to a style of boot – not a brand.
