Who is Bull Connor from the Civil Rights movement?

0

Bull Connor was the head of the police dept. in Birmingham, Alabama during the 1960s. He’s they guy who permitted the use of fire hoses on nonviolent protesters. He was a very interesting man, if you can get past his views. Here’s a link with more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bull_Connor This guy was a raging racist, but so were most other people in Birmingham at that time. Today, 40 years later, Birmingham is a different place. It embraces diversity. Instead of just being ashamed of it’s past, it is determined to preserving the bad memories so it can measure the wonderful progress it has made. Good luck!
