Who is entitled to Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits?
Anybody who is unable to work because of a qualifying physical or mental impairment may be eligible for SSD benefits. SSD benefits are available to all workers who have worked at least five of the last 10 years. If you have not worked, you may still qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits.
