Who is Family Health Ministries and why are they building a medical facility in Leogane, Haiti?
Family Health Ministries, a 501(c)(3) organization with the vision of creating a better tomorrow by building healthy families and healthy communities. Currently, FHM does community development in Haiti. FHM also conducts research for techniques and equipment that can be used by healthcare professionals across the world. Family Health Ministries (FHM) has worked in Leogane, Haiti, for more than 15 years, supporting women’s and children’s health. FHM’s programs have prospered in the midst of a steadily deteriorating health care system. FHM has made huge progress over the years. The group has gone from carrying boxes of donated surgical gloves to doctors, to raising over $500,000 to help those same healthcare workers. Developing meaningful and transformational relationships with local Haitians, FHM has helped build or run or both build and run five healthcare clinics in Haiti, two in Leogane.
