Who is in charge?
God is in charge. That’s why prayer is essential to forming a ministry team. Yet God works through our human hands and the gifts we have been given. The Vestry continues with it’s usual responsibilities and the Team, with the guidance of the Pastoral Mentor, makes most of the decisions normally made by a rector. Individual team members are in charge of particular areas, for which they have been trained. The bottom line, according to the bishop and the canons, is that the Pastoral Mentor will continue to be the Priest in Charge of all three parishes, delegating authority to the team but not abdicating the canonical responsibility. 3.
