Who is responsible for cutting hedges growing alongside Rights of Way?
Last updated: 16/12/2009 Add to My Bookmarks Under section 154 of the Highways Act it is the landowner or occupier’s responsibility for controlling side and overhead vegetation from inhibiting the use of Public Rights of Way. Cornwall Council, as the Highway Authority, has a duty to control surface vegetation, although this is exempt from cultivated crops.
