Who is rube goldberg and what does he have to do with halo?
Rube Goldberg was a cartoonist who created a series of strips depicting the inventions of the fictional character Professor Lucifer Gorgonzola Butts. His inventions later become known as the “Rube Goldberg Machine.” A “Rube Goldberg Machine” is an extremely complicated device that executes a very simple task in a complex, indirect way. This is now used as an expression to describe any system that’s confusing or complicated and came about from Goldberg’s illustrations of absurd machines. Where it connects with the game “Halo” is something called the Forge Mode, where gamers can create their own levels etc. in “Halo 3.” One level called the Foundry has some simple objects and scripting. There’s a community built around “Halo 3” to create overly complicated machines (a.k.a. Rube Goldberg machines) to achieve tasks like commiting suicide or trapping other players. You can view some of them at 7th Columnist or YouTube.
