This is an interesting question (I’m a female programmer as well) so I googled it: There were several firsts for woman programmers. First there is the woman that invented the first programming language. Her name is Hopper, Grace Brewster Murray. Mrs. Hopper was a genius in computers and math. She worked for the United States military as did the other women considered the first in their field, however Mrs. Hopper is considered “The Mother of Programming language”.
