Who manages Snowdonia?
or How do you operate and manage the attraction? Not in the same way as a Theme Park or Safari Park would operate. • Snowdonia is managed by the Snowdonia National Park Authority. It’s a Planning Authority, just like your local County Council. It is responsible for passing or rejecting planning applications within the boundary of Snowdonia National Park as well as creating future policies that can influence where you can build a house etc. The Authority is based at Penrhyndeudraeth outside the National Park boundary (most National Park headquarters are outside the park boundaries – after all, we can’t give ourselves planning permission can we !!) and the Education Services are based at an old slate barons manor called Plas Tan y Bwlch in Maentwrog which is within Snowdonia. • Snowdonia National Park Authority is run democratically by a panel of members. 9 Members appointed by Gwynedd Council 3 Members appointed by Conwy Council 6 Members appointed by National Assembly You can see who t
