Who reads scripts at Hampstead Theatre and how can I apply to become a script reader?
Our current panel includes writers, directors and dramaturgs but we also welcome interest from actors, designers and producers with a passion for new writing and practical insight and experience into how plays reach the stage. Our script readers are selected on the basis that we can respond to the diversity, breadth and potential of new plays. When a vacancy emerges we seek out individuals that can add valuable skills to the existing group. Typically, new readers with specific expertise and practical experience drawn from their own work in theatre or other producing arts are invited to join the panel.
