Also, in most instances a person who has substantial debts that are not dischargeable under chapter 7 should not file a chapter 7 case. In addition, it may not be advisable for a person with disposable income sufficient to repay a substantial portion of his or her debts within a reasonable period to file a chapter 7 case, because the case may be dismissed as an abuse of chapter 7.
