Who Thought Jesse McCartney Should Be Casted as Prince Zuko?
The new highly anticipated summer blockbuster, Avatar The Last Airbender, has come under much fire and scrutiny from activist groups protesting the films use of white actors instead of Asian actors. The movie is based off of a Nickelodeon show, which features Asian actors. This known fact is a large part of what made it popular amongst viewers. It is really a shame how Paramount and Shymalan chose to use white actors. This could have been something like a “Slumdog Millionaire” moment. The film company could have cast actors that are from obscurity and make them and the franchise into something bigger and better. I’m sure there are tons of Asian actors who could have played these roles as well as, if not better, and they still would have maintained the integrity that is seen in the television show. The role controversy does not stop here for some reason Jesse McCartney was set to be cast as Prince Zuko. I am not Avatar’s biggest fan but I have watched almost every episode of the Televis
